Fair enough

We almost missed the Caruthers Fair this year.

Thanks to Callie's reminder and not leaving for the funeral till the morning
we were able to slip in a trip to the largest free gate fair in America-
(or something like that).

The older two earned ribbons for showing the goats and calves.
They were able to pick which ever color they wanted.
(I haven't taught them about blue ribbons are 1st place)

Camilla's favorite was the cow- her goat has a little much for her.

Spencer prefered the goat, I think because his calf kept trying to eat his hair
leaving him all slimy.

Nate got a little ribbon, but had no interest in getting too close to the bigger animals.

He would have walked around and around the livestock area if we had let him.

Pointing out everyone's nose and ears and trying to climb on every piece of trator equipment.

There was a lady at the slides that let us super slide for free dozens of times-
A favorite for me and Mark- we just can't do dizzy anymore.
In this picture it looks like Mark isn't enjoying it as much as Spence but I am pretty sure they both loved it.

The train broke down on us after 5 feet- bummer- Spence says we need to go back to ride the train again.
Maybe next year buddy.

Mark wouldn't go on the dizzy dinosaur things and they won't let the kids go alone- those two really got that thing a spinning!

Poor Nate was really into the rides and it was hard to find rides that they would allow him to ride.

Ended the night eating ice cream and listening to good live music- the kids danced for the older crowd- receiving alot of attention. We washed our hands and feet and every other part before crawling into bed.

  1. looks like fun. I think it is funny that they are the last free gate in America is their claim to fame... mostly because it can't be true. I know our fair is free- although some what small. And if they only fair I know of is a free gate fair- I'm betting there are lots more. Silly fair folk. Looks like fun though.
